1990 ST184 Engine Light

Hi, I am rebuilding a 1990 Celica and after replacing all vacuum hoses, distributor, injectors, oxygen sensor, fuel pump and filters as well as overhaul the throttle body my engine light comes on when cruising at 80km. The errors are 25 and 26 - Air/Fuel LEAN and Air/Fuel RICH! Does anyone have any ideas of where I can look to fix this very annoying problem?

It sounds like you have a bad connection to your oxygen sensor, or it is faulty. Try installing your old one to see if anything changes.

Thanks for your suggestion. It was doing it with the original one which is why I have replaced it.

Reset the ecu, disconnect the oxygen sensor, test drive it and see what happens

Pardon my ignorance, but how do you reset the ecu? Btw, I have even tried an ecu from another Celica of the same age and the problem is the same.

I meant to reset the codes in the ECU.
This site tells you how to do it - https://www.troublecodes.net/toyota/toyota-90-93-celica-89-92-corolla/

Have you tried a different MAP sensor?

Is it possible for you to send a photo of a MAP sensor?

It's attached to the firewall, and has a small rubber hose going to it and also some electrical cables. It has a sticker on it saying vacuum or something similar.

Yes, I have replaced it with one from my other Celica that never had this issue. Light STILL came on after half an hour of driving. I have disconnected the the O2 sensor and see if it comes on earlier. That may prove it is something to do with the wiring to the sensor. What I don't understand is why this was never an issue with my previous Celica (same model) with almost all the same components. The engine light never came on. Now it does every day, and every day I try something else thinking I have nailed it for sure.
