CV joint removal

hi guys   ive got to replace   the cv jpoints   ive got  the   shaft out of the  car  but cant see what holds  the piece in the gearbox   the  bearings on the shaft slide into    carnt see   any retainers   ect   what holds them in  cheers  guys

    The drive shaft is held in by a spring steel clip on the end on the shaft. To get the shaft out you need to either pry it out with a pry bar or smack it out by hitting the back of the cv joint with a copper hammer
